However, if you want to get the best possible cut while wasting as little effort as possible, you need to find a high-quality mower that is a good fit for your lawn’s particular features. This guide from the experts at Star Equipment & Rental can help you get started.

Types of Lawn Mower

One important aspect to consider is which type of mower best fits your needs. Zero-turn mowers are very maneuverable and efficient but can be a bit expensive. Push-behind mowers aren’t as efficient but they are affordable and easy to maintain, perfect for a homeowner with average sized lawns. Stand-on mowers are very stable and some find them more ergonomic than traditional riding mowers. Finally, there’s front-mounted mowers, which have many advantages such as being highly maneuverable and easy to maintain but are also fairly expensive, which is why they are mostly used for commercial purposes.

Power Source

It’s also important to take into account what power source the lawn mower uses. Most lawn mowers currently available on the market are powered by either gasoline or electricity. Gasoline-powered mowers are more common and in some cases are more powerful than electric mowers, but they tend to be louder and produce a lot of air pollution. Electric mowers are divided into corded and cordless models. Corded mowers provide the same amount of power as gasoline-powered mowers while producing less air and sound pollution, but the cords limit their maneuverability and create a danger that the operator will accidentally mow over the cord. Cordless mowers utilize batteries, making them as environmentally friendly as corded mowers while being as maneuverable as gasoline-powered mowers. However, cordless electric mowers tend to be more expensive than other kinds of mower and are available in less models since they are less common. Electric mowers that use batteries are also sometimes less powerful than gasoline-powered mowers of the same weight.
